We all know about Xiaomi in the smartphone industry. They are known for amazing smartphones at affordable prices. Mi 8 comes with a 6.21-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2248 pixels) Samsung’s AMOLED display with 18:7:9 aspect ratio. Mi 8 comes with 3,000mAh battery with support of Quick Charging 3.0. Talking about the other normal features, It also supports fast charging (thanks to USB type-C). In connectivity, It comes with 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Dual Sim support, NFC, WiFi, dual-band GPS (with L1/ L5 signal support).

Mi 8 Explorer Specifications & Price

Mi 8 Explorer Edition runs on Android Oreo with MIUI, comes with a 6.21-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2248 pixels) with 402 PPI. The special edition is powered by octa-core processor and it comes with 8GB of RAM. It packs with a 12 Megapixel primary camera on the rear and 20 Megapixel secondary camera with LED flash. Also, It packs with 3,000mAh battery.

Well, All the other things are same as of the Mi 8. The only major difference is of RAM variant, it has 8GB and other has 6GB. The Explorer edition comes with a price tag of CNY 3,699 (roughly Rs. 39,000), will be available from 4th June in China & will available in India from August.

Mi 8 SE Specifications & Price

The smartphones packs with 5.88-inch AMOLED full-screen HD+ (1080×2244 pixels) display with 2.5D glass protection, 423 ppi pixel density, and 18.7:9 aspect ratio. It has Notch at the top. Also, The Mi 8 SE is powered by the 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 710 processor. It comes in two different RAM variants, it has 4GB / 6GB RAM. It has only 64GB of inbuilt storage, which is not expandable via MicroSD card. The highlight of the phone is, It has face unlock capability.

Mi 8 SE comes with a AI dual camera with 12 megapixel & 5 megapixel at the back with f/1.9 aperture, Bokeh mode, Portrait mode, monochrome temp flash, HDR adjustment, dimming technology, EIS, and AI features. At the front, It comes with 20 megapixel camera with Bokeh effect, smart beauty features built-in front soft light, automatic HDR, 4K video capture, and slow motion. It is coupled with Adreno 616 Graphics card. The Mi 8 SE will come in 4 color variants, namely Bright Blue, Dark Grey, Bright Red, and Golden.

It starts from CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs. 18,900) for 4GB RAM & 64GB inbuilt storage variant & CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 21,100) for the 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant. It will be available from 4th June in China, from August you can purchase it in India. Mi 8 SE packs with 3,120mAh battery with the support of Quick Charge 3.0. Talking about the connectivity features, the smartphone comes with dual sim support, 4G VoLTE, GLONASS, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, MIMO, AGPS, USB Type-C, and much more.

Conclusion

Xiaomi is usually termed as the ‘budget smartphone king’, and we think the Mi 8 brings plenty of unique things to take on big companies like Samsung, OnePlus, HTC, etc. All the smartphones are premium but these are not fully power packed phones, like the Mi 8 SE does not have capability to increase the internal storage. The new Xiaomi Mi 8 series phones comes with MIUI 10, It will be available from the end of July for all other Xiaomi phones. But it comes with Mi 8 series as of default OS with Android Oreo. However, the Step taken by Xiaomi is really interesting these phones looks promising. We can also say, The Mi 8 may look like an Android-powered iPhone X, but it is packed with great hardware and has checked all the right boxes.
